Threading Inserts with 5 Edges
ISCAR has expanded the PENTACUT line by adding PENTA 24 economical inserts with five edges, featuring the ability to perform threading applications.
Following the successfully market penetration of the PENTA 24 inserts, ISCAR is expanding the application range by adding the threading option.
Available are full profile inserts in the following thread standards: ISO, UN, Whitworth and BSPT. Partial profile inserts are available in 60º (MT) and 55º (WT) profiles.

- Multi-corner, five cutting edges, which provide an advantageous price per cutting edge
- Combination of very rigid clamping system and a strong insert design enables machining at very high machining parameters
- Can be used for threading between walls to enable complete part production on bar feeder machines
- Inserts feature chipformers, providing short and easily exposed chips, excellent accuracy and surface quality
- Easy and fast edge indexing from either side of the holder
- In case of edge breakage, the tool will survive and other cutting corners still can be used
- All new inserts are made from the very versatile PVD coated grade IC908
- The new PENTA Thread inserts can be mounted on standard PENTA 24 tools
