Seco Introduces W-MF4 Insert Geometry for Higher Performance in Stainless Steels

To further improve the output manufacturers can obtain when machining stainless steels, Seco has developed and released the new dedicated W-Mf4 insert geometry. A high-feed (wiper) geometry, W-MF4 enables the high performance levels that have been available for other metals, but were difficult to attain when cutting stainless steels.

With the new high-feed wiper geometry, manufacturers can significantly increase surface finish quality, cycle times or both, depending on the priorities and demands of their specific application. W-MF4 is available in Duratomic® grades TM2000 and TM4000 and PVD-coated grade CP500.

TM2000 and TM4000 provide excellent turning performance in stainless steels through Duratomic coating technology. CP500 is a universal grade that achieves strong results across a wide variety of workpiece materials due its unique PVD coating.
