Seco Introduces Cermet Grade TP1030 for High-volume Threading Operations

Seco designed its new cermet grade TP1030 to consistently deliver premium threading performance and maintain excellent tool life in high-production thread turning operations that involve steels and stainless steels. The grade maintains tight tolerances in combination with high surface finishing demands in a broad cutting speed area, especially when used in conjunction with Seco HD threading holders.

Available in an S-type insert to ensure a uniform-profile edge line, TP1030 is an ultra fine grain cermet substrate that increases productivity and achieves excellent surface finish. When compared to carbide, it offers improved crater wear resistance and reduces the risk of built-up edge. A TiSiAIN nanolaminate PVD coating further protects the edge, allowing for unmatched performance.

TP1030 complements Seco’s CP500, CP300 and CP200 PVD-coated carbide threading inserts as a specific optimisation grade for steels and stainless steels. It is offered in the most common external and internal profiles and pitches, such as ISO 1.0-3.0 mm, UN 20-8 TPI and W 19-11, as well as 60-degree partial profiles.
