Sandvik Coromant Center Opens its Doors as Part of €22 Million Investment

On the 8th October 2014, after two years of construction, Sandvik Coromant is opening its new global meeting place in Sandviken, Sweden. The 4,500 square meter “Sandvik Coromant Center” is one of the world’s largest centers for productivity, application, machining and research in manufacturing. This is part of a €22 million investment that will also cover the opening of a new center in Langfang, Beijing, China.

“We have created a world-class meeting place that we are convinced is needed by the manufacturing industry. It is a center for everyone who is interested in productivity gains, cutting edge research innovations and the future for global manufacturing,” says Klas Forsström, Global President of Sandvik Coromant.

The new center will strengthen the position of Sandvik Coromant as the global leader in competence and innovation within the manufacturing industry. It is a meeting place where visitors can interact and cooperate in a modern and inspiring environment, enabling physical and digital collaboration. This new center is the first of its kind and will become the standard for future Sandvik Coromant centers all over the world.

It is estimated that the new center in Sandviken will attract 6,000 visitors from all over the world each year. The visitors will have access to the latest technology, new products, engineering competence and customized solutions. They can connect to other centers in the world and, in addition, participate in various training activities, joining over 30,000 individuals trained by Sandvik Coromant every year.

The next center to open will be in Langfang, Beijing, China, later this November. Globally Sandvik Coromant has 25 different centers dedicated to supporting its customers.
