Launch event features presentations by representatives of ABIMAQ, ANFAVEA and Volkswagen
This month Hexagon Metrology officially inaugurated its new South American headquarters, opening the doors to customers, partners and the media with a cocktail party held at the premises in São Paulo. Mr. Danilo Lapastini, Hexagon Metrology South America’s Vice President, began the ceremony which was attended by several industry leaders. “Today our challenge is unique – to grow and provide solutions to all our customers,” said Lapastini in his opening speech.
ABIMAQ (Brazilian Association of the Industry of Machinery and Equipment) President, Carlos Pastoriza, spoke about the difficulties of the industry in the current market and praised Hexagon Metrology’s attitude in expanding their services nationwide. “It’s a fight that we have: to defend manufacturing in Brazil, defending the local content,” stressed Mr. Pastoriza, who also discussed the progression of metrology over the years.
Engineer Gleiton Damoulis, Associate Director of Quality Assurance at Volkswagen Anchieta, highlighted developments in the optical measurement field, of which Hexagon Metrology is one of the pioneer companies. Closing the ceremony, Mr. Luiz Moan from ANFAVEA (National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers), stated that “Brazil’s solution is called investment and this is what Hexagon Metrology is doing.” At the end, Mr. Lapastini cut the inaugural ribbon to declare the new headquarters of Hexagon Metrology South America officially open. Guests were then able to visit the showroom, tour the site and see the equipment.
The new 3,600 square metre location has an exclusive training room for Hexagon Metrology customers, as well as a more logical space distribution with better logistics for the loading and unloading of materials, more space for production and the implementation of Lean Manufacturing. Improved customer facilities include plenty of visiting space, where customers can view highlights of Hexagon Metrology’s operations. The new building is located at Rua Dom Aguirre, 190, Vila Sofia, in the city of São Paulo.
