Hexagon Metrology Italy opens new Precision Centre in Naples

New technical sales offices to serve central and southern Italy

From today, 18 September, through to 20 September, Hexagon Metrology Italy will be welcoming their customers from central and southern Italy for the grand opening of the new Precision Centre in Naples.

At these new offices, Hexagon Metrology has built two air-controlled measuring rooms: one dedicated to servicing and metrological calibration of ROMER portable articulated arms, the other equipped with coordinate measuring machines and portable systems to provide training services, application advice and contract inspection.

“We have been present in the central and southern areas of the country for several years,” says Massimo Gregori, Area Manager at Hexagon Metrology Centre/South, “But the local staff were missing a location where they could carry out these important activities – until now we had to transfer them to other centres in Northern Italy. The Naples area is strategic for us because of the presence of many customers, particularly in the automotive and aerospace industries, and they have welcomed this new venture from Hexagon Metrology with enthusiasm. From today, they’ll be able to make use of the services available.”

GB 5In the opinion of Bruno Rolle, General Manager of the Sales Division in Italy, “There’s a growing demand for measurement services both from customers that have insufficient capacity with the systems they own, and from those without the equipment or expertise required for a particular application. For this reason, we have set up the new centre for measurement services in Naples, and it will be joined in a few weeks by the centre in Orbassano (TO), with both centres managed by our staff. At the same time, we have extended our geographical coverage with the cooperation of three partner companies that have been providing dimensional inspections services for a long time. This gives us a real network of qualified personnel capable of quickly responding to any local inspection requests.”

“2014 has been a year of sizable investments in the after-sales sector, enabling us to better serve our customers throughout the national territory,” Levio Valetti concludes, “We’re working on a few more projects for next year, with the aim of strengthening and enhancing the structure of our services.”
