CADVision Engineers, a provider of engineering software products and services, announced today the completion of phase one of beta testing on a software product that uses Bricsys’ LGS 2D component technology for parametric constraint solving. The product is a first level computer aided software tool that an engineer would use in creating sketches of concepts, progressing to synthesizing geometry and concluding with analyzing the integrity of design to quickly assess practicality of a design concept.
CADVision believes this is a smarter methodology that uses Engineering Design Synthesis to shorten design cycles and thus time to market or time to complete engineering change/configuration orders.
Phase One of beta testing and product debugging is complete, and the company expects to complete phase two by mid 2014, with commercial availability beginning shortly thereafter. CADVision expects to make a formal announcement of the commercial launch and other details in the middle of the year.
Originally acquired from LEDAS, continuous improvement of the LGS 2D & 3D component technology is now led by the Bricsys development team in Novosibirsk, Russia. The technology is available for integration by CAD/CAM/CAE software developers worldwide, and has been embedded in the BricsCAD software itself since V12. As such it is used by thousands of BricsCAD users for parametric drawing, variational direct modeling, assembly design, and kinematic simulation.
CADVision Engineers licensed LGS 2D from Bricsys to implement constraint support in its brand-new software product. Using the full power of LGS 2D, Design Engineers can solve complex engineering problems early in their design cycle.
“We thoroughly analyzed several technology components for constraint solving available on the market and selected LGS 2D from Bricsys,” said Siddharth Reddy, Director of CADVision Engineers Pvt Ltd. “It perfectly suits our needs in a powerful constraint solving engine that is able to support sophisticated engineering design. We are also happy with its affordability for start-up companies.”
“Hundred thousands of BricsCAD users worldwide are aware of the power of our constraint solving technology,” said Erik De Keyser, CEO of Bricsys NV. “We are happy to share our many-years experience in this field with other CAD development companies. We propose flexible conditions for start-up companies interested in our state-of-the-art technologies for parametric design in 2D and 3D.”
