Spinjet has been creating waves at the IMTEX 2015 exhibition through its HSM (High Speed Machining) Jet Spindle, driven by the CNC machine spindle coolant through flow at a minimum pressure of 20 bar. The technology is available at L&T cutting Tools stall in hall no 3, booth A114.
This coolant-driven spindle is said to have real-time RPM monitoring. Spinjet is equipped with an integrated wireless display system allowing real-time monitoring of the rotation speed during machining. The real-time monitoring adds the advantage of optimizing the cutting tool’s machining conditions according to the actual rotational speed in the workpiece.
The system uses the existing machine coolant flow and rotates the HSM jet spindle without an additional energy source, saveing up to 70% of machining time. The spindle is also 4-5 times faster and can offer up to 40,000 RPM on machines.
“Most machines that exist in this category in the market have less than ten thousand rpm. All the machines in today’s market has this limit and disadvantage. Here is our product’s USP. The RPMs can touch 20,000, 30,000 and up to 40,000,” opined Mr Baruch Books, Deputy CEO, VP Sales & Marketing, Colibri Spindles Ltd.,
The HSM Jet Spindle is available in several mounting adaptation types as:
- ER32 collect chuck with a special tightening nut, suitable for all standard tool holders with an ER32 seat
- Integral options with various adaptations: HSK A63, C 5 & 6, BT 30 & 40, CAT 40 & DIN6987140
The spindle is compatible with standard ER11 collets for tool clamping. The HSM Jet Spindle can be supplied either as a right-hand or left-hand option.
Its wide range of applications include milling, thread milling, drilling, grinding, chamfering and engraving.
However, it is important to note that the HSM Jet Spindle is not intended to replace the CNC machine spindle, but rather to upgrade the existing CNC machine, providing improved performance, faster machining, better surface quality, and extended tool life.
