SKF exhibits machine tool life cycle management portfolio at IMTEX 2015
SKF India exhibited machine tool Life Cycle Management (LCM) portfolio at IMTEX 2015held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from 22-28 January, 2015. IMTEX 2015 – 17th Indian Metal-cutting Machine Tool Exhibition highlights the wide range of innovations and technological refinements in the complete product segment of metal-cutting machine tools.

Products and solutions showcased at IMTEX 2015:
1. Super precision bearing range: Machine tools and other precision applications require superior bearing performance. Extended speed capability, a high degree of running accuracy, high system rigidity, low heat generation, as well as low noise and vibration levels are just some of the challenges.
SKF super-precision bearings helps original equipment manufacturers and end users to further optimize performance parameters of their equipment and applications. The benefits differs depending on the bearing series and applications but include high speed and load carrying ability, long bearing service life, long maintenance intervals and low energy consumption.
2.Profile rail guides: SKF profile rail guide slides are equipped with a pair of profile rails fitted with a total of four carriages (with the exception of size 212 with linear motor 1FN3-150-3K which has six carriages). They help customers with high load carrying capacity and stiffness.
3. Spindle:The spindle determines the final product quality and affects machine tool productivity, efficiency and maintenance requirements. SKF offer capabilities for repairing and optimization of machine tool spindles with unmatched global support, providing services and providing complete solutions for all types , brands , sizes of spindles in their state of the art solution factories.
4. MTx:The SKF Machine Tool Observer MTx is a standalone data logger system for machine tools and machine tool spindles which offers benefits to both OEM and end users. It can easily be integrated into new machines or retrofitted as an upgrade for existing machines. The MTx can log measurements from your critical machine tools, and is capable of collecting data from a wide range of sensors such as vibration, speed, temperature, humidity, eddy probes and oil streak. The user and the machine control system are alerted if a value is detected out with pre-defined boundaries. All events which exceed thresholds, or spindle crashes, are logged with an accurate time stamp and sensor values, and are stored in a permanent flash memory. It can continuously log data over 10 years. High speed relay outputs can stop the machine in milliseconds and the e-mail warning system can immediately send a warning to the supervisor for a corrective action.
