With its film “The Duel”, KUKA found itself on the winner’s podium at the iF DESIGN AWARDS ceremony at the BMW World facility in Munich on 27 February. The star of the video, the small robot KR AGILUS, also took home a prize.
6.25 million clicks on YouTube and seven awards over the past year alone testify to the fact that the KUKA film “The Duel: Timo Boll vs. KUKA Robot” garnered a great deal of attention in 2014. In the video production, the KUKA small robot KR AGILUS faces off against German table tennis star and KUKA brand ambassador Timo Boll.
Now the marketing film from the Augsburg robot manufacturer has collected another trophy. At the iF DESIGN AWARD 2015, the video production took home the coveted prize in the Communication category. And as if that were not enough, the most important star – after Timo Boll of course – also left the Munich ceremony with an award on 27 February. The KR AGILUS received the iF DESIGN AWARD in the Product category.
For over 60 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been an internationally recognized hallmark of excellent design, and the iF brand is a globally established symbol of exceptional design quality. The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented by iF International Forum Design GmbH, which is based in Hannover, Germany. This year, an international jury selected the iF DESIGN AWARD 2015 winners from a pool of around 5,000 entries.
