Tell us about Tungaloy India operations.
As a part of Global marketing strategy, Tungaloy India was started in 2010.
We started our operations in Mumbai with 19 people. After almost six years of operations we have more than 70 people in our team with more than 70 dealers spread across India catering to requirements in most of the Industrial locations. With the support of our excellent team we crossed more than 100 Crores billing in 2015. We have an application team to cater to new projects and tooling up requirements.
Today we can proudly say that we are one of the fastest growing Indexable cutting Tool Company in India.
Kindly tell us about the recently conducted TungForce seminar
We had a global launch of TungForce range of Products in Pune on February 3rd, it was a day seminar attended by many of our esteemed customers who supported us to make this event a grand success. The response from our customers was overwhelming
We launched innovative products in all aspects of machining – We now have Do triple mill – which takes multiple varieties of inserts on the same cutter body, negative inserts for shoulder milling, high feed cutter for higher depth of cuts, smaller diameter indexable endmills, new turning tools, new grooving solutions and many more.
We also launched an innovative holder for turning – TJet , which is very beneficial for super alloy and stainless steel turning.
Tell us more about your R&D activities and what percent of your sales goes into R&D?
We invest 10% of our revenues in R&D to develop new technology to stay ahead of competition. We make sure we are always developing new products in accordance with the requirements from the end users.
Please tell us latest innovations from Tungaloy
Tungaloy has very innovative solutions to cater to the customer requirements.
We have launched TungSix drills which are world’s first indexable drill with 6 cutting edges. We also launched do mini bore which is the boring solution for smaller diameters with 6 cutting edges for better productivity and cost economics. We have DoFeed series which is a high feed milling solution and has features to reduce load in the high feed application .For side and face cutters we have launched TungSlot which is an innovative slotting cutter with 6 cutting edges on the inserts.
We see a major increase in the machining of super alloys for which we have launched 8000 series with the new range to geometries to cater to tough applications.
We have recently launched TungForce range of products which was launched in Pune on February 3rd. The entire products launch was done in a day seminar attended by more than 800 customers from across India.
The TungForce range has innovative solutions for Milling / Drilling / Turning and Grooving which we will be promoting and implementing now.
Tungaloy competes with many global cutting tool manufacturers in India and around the world. What are your plans to stay ahead in competition?
To stay ahead of the competition we invest heavily in technology to develop the latest products at all times. This helps us to give a better solution for the tough applications.
We launched TungForce products which are completely different from the tools presently seen in the Industry. We also have an excellent sales and marketing team to support these products, our channel partners ensure that the new tools are implemented and give a better solution to customers.
What are your views on Indian market and future trend?
India has huge domestic consumption, we have some manufacturing sectors growing and some are stagnant. The future segments in our view are aerospace and medical industry
What are the emerging sectors for cutting tool manufacturers? Like automotive is always the biggest consumer but apart from auto what other sectors are?
We feel Aerospace and medical are the growing segments in the industry as of now. The growth rate is very high in these segments and we see lots of new investments coming in this segment.
Machining for aerospace components is always a challenge due to very challenging work material. We have launched 8000 series of new grade during our Tungforce seminar for machining the same. The combination of TJet holder works very well for these tough applications
For the medical industry we have the complete range of small part machining solution – J-series and tiny turn for machining small parts.
Please tell us about your plans for Tungaloy India.
We are working towards doubling our sales in the year 2020; we are focused and are aligning our operations to ensure the same. We are strengthening the team and added manpower for projects and tooling up cases. We have the special products in our range to take care of special applications. Our channel partners are now catering to all the major industrial locations to service our customers and to increase our reach. We have a very aggressive growth plan and we are strategically implementing the changes accordingly.
