ISCAR launches solid carbide endmills for machining hard steel

ISCAR is launching new solid carbide endmills made from grade IC608 designed mainly for milling hardened steel.

IC608 is a complementary grade to the existing PVD coated grades intended for machining hardened steel.

C608 H(01-10) P(05-20)
A tough submicron substrate with a hard PVD coating that provides substantially improved tool life and reliability.

Substrate: Tough submicron cemented carbide substrate featuring high deformation resistance.

Coating: New hard PVD brown coating, excellent oxidation resistance, high chipping and wear resistance.

The combination of the new substrate and new coating results in improved repeatability and accuracy.

Applications:
Milling hardened steel (45-60HRc) at moderate to high cutting speeds. Milling alloy steel at moderate to high cutting speeds.

In the initial stage، the new grade is being introduced into the most popular FINISHRED EFS-B44 (6-20 mm diameters) and CHATTERFREE EC-E4L-CF (3-20 mm diameters) endmill families. According to market response, more IC608 items in other tool families will follow.
