ISCAR gears up for IMTEX 2015
ISCAR, member of the IMC group, will be exhibiting a range of tooling solutions at the upcoming exhibition IMTEX 2015. IMTEX is South East Asia’s largest machine tool exhibition going to be held from Jan 22-28, 2015 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). The company will be showcasing its flagship products like PENTAIQGRIP for grooving applications, ISOTURN small sized inserts, SUMOCHAM drilling line, HELIDO H690 and DOVEIQMILL 845 line of indexable face mills. The company will be available at Hall 3A, A114.
ISCAR will be showcasing following technologies:
PENTAIQGRIP
PENTAIQGRIP provides larger parting diameter capacity and deeper grooving applications compared with currently available pentagonal inserts. 3 insert sizes are available for parting: 20, 30 and 40 mm. Sizes 20 and 30 mm can also be used on Swiss type and small CNC machine tools.
ISOTURN 
This range of inserts provides an economical advantage regarding cost per cutting edge. The new inserts are available in a wide range of geometries, corner radii, new chipformers and the most advanced SUMO TEC carbide grades. The available geometries are WNMG 0604.., WNMG 06T3.., WNMX 0606.., CNMG 0904.., CNMX 0906.., SNMG 0904.., DNMG 1104.., TNMG 1604.. and TNMX 1606… These inserts are generally thicker than the standard inserts of the same sizes, thus providing higher durability and they can run at feed rates similar to the larger inserts.
SUMOCHAM drilling line
ISCAR has extended the application range of the successful SUMOCHAM drilling line by adding flat face drilling heads. The new flat face drilling heads are designated FCP, designed for drilling steel components (ISO P material group). The new FCP drill heads can be mounted on any SUMOCHAM drill featuring the appropriate pocket size. ISCAR has expanded the SUMOCHAM drilling head options, by introducing a revolutionary drilling head geometry that features concave cutting edges. This substantially enhances the self-centering capability of the drill, which enables using long drills (up to 12XD), without a pilot hole operation.
SUMOGUN
Following the very successful SUMOCHAM line, the ‘no setup time’ concept has been implemented on gundrills, designated SUMOGUN. ISCAR is expanding the drill length options above 12xD depth to diameter ratio, in a diameter range of 10 to 25.9 mm and a maximum total length can be 1000 mm. The new gundrills can be used on standard horizontal milling centers, lathes, multi-task machines and gundrill machines.
SUMOGUN enables replacement of the drilling head inside the machine – there is no need to remove the drill for head indexing. The SUMOGUN provides the enduser the ability to clamp different head geometries according to the material and application.
HELIDO H690
The new H690 TNKX 1606… triangular inserts feature 6 helical right-hand cutting edges and are very strong due to their thickness. The HELIDO H690 helical design of the triangular insert, coupled with a rigid pocket design, provides extremely high durability and very stable performance.
Due to its strong construction and a unique chip deflector with positive cutting angles and excellent grade combinations, the new HELIDO H690 family features high durability, low cutting forces and excellent tool life. The HELIDO H690 family combines the most advantageous features of both the HELIMILL (helical cutting edge and positive rake angle) and the HELIDO H490 (strong construction), which are most suitable for heavy milling applications. The thick and robust insert is very economical when taking into account the price per corner, when compared to the single-sided inserts.
DOVEIQMILL 
The DOVEIQMILL 845 LINE is a family of indexable face mills carrying square double-sided inserts with 8 cutting edges. The mills feature a very soft cut due to a high-positive cutting edge inclination, that contributes greatly to smooth entry into and exit from the component being machined. The cutter features an advanced design characterized by high-positive pocket inclination. This feature, not typical for milling cutters with double-sided inserts, allows for free-cutting action, less power consumption and thus less generated heat.
Each insert features 8 cutting edges – each edge comprises a reinforced main edge and a wiper flat for high quality of machined surface.
