Hexagon Metrology welcomed over 60 representatives from major automotive manufacturers to its Qingdao facility on for the Smart Inline Measurement Solutions forum event. Amongst the attractions was the first exhibition of the 360° Smart Inline Measurement Solutions (360° SIMS) automated white light inspection system at the Qingdao demonstration centre, which generated great interest amongst the delegates.
Focusing on 360° SIMS, the forum showcased the latest quality control technology for automotive car body and sheet metal inspections. A totally automatic measurement solution, 360° SIMS uses white light sensors, fixed sensors and robotic integration systems to measure in offline, near-the-line or inline cell configurations. The 360° SIMS demonstration highlighted the efficiency of the system, impressing the representatives with its automated operation, smart data processing and root analysis functions.
“360° SIMS supports a variety of customer applications throughout stamping, body shop and final assembly sub-plants, supplying users with complete data analysis and information insight.” said Giacomo Barilà, head of Hexagon Metrology’s automated solutions.
In addition to 360° SIMS, the event featured other leading Hexagon Metrology solutions including the WLS400M white light sensor, the ROMER Absolute Arm and the Leica Absolute Tracker ranges. Delegates were also invited to test the smart MMS (Metrology Management System) in the software experience area.
