The jury awarded the prize to Hexagon Metrology “for the extraordinary advances in dimensional metrology technology that has provided this solution for white light measurement – 360° Smart Inline Measurement Solutions (SIMS). This proposal is radically transforming quality and production management parameters in the car industry.”

The 360º SIMS solution from Hexagon Metrology has a very direct application in car production factories and has already been deployed by major global manufacturers. Introducing the inline measurement concept, 360º SIMS allows analyses of the entire surface with measurement of critical features for 100% of car bodywork, sub-assemblies and unit parts in the production cycle period.
