May ninth was a very special occasion for the adult training facility, pro.Di, in Stuttgart, Germany, when the organization officially opened its fully-equipped Haas Technical Education Centre (HTEC), established with the collaboration and support of Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) Katzenmeier Maschinen-Service GmbH. Around 50 people attended the event, including Mr. Klaus Krebs, the MD of Berufsforderungswerk Schomberg (the parent organization of pro.Di), senior managers from HFO Katzenmeier, and several representatives of Haas Automation.
“This is a great day for us,” said Markus Homburg, Head of Education at pro.Di. “One of our remits is to help the unemployed to reskill and find new work. The HTEC is equipped with the very latest Haas CNC machine tools, which means our students – young people starting their careers or older students reskilling, will be very well prepared to find jobs with local and regional manufacturing companies.”
pro.Di has developed a range of 6 Haas training programmes, from basic to advanced, which are approved and certified by the NC Gesellschaft (Numeric Control Society). “We believe we have created a unique training facility,” adds Mr. Homburg, “combining the best educational methodology, structured training and, of course, excellent CNC technology. We expect local companies will also come to us to find trained employees and to fulfill their in-house training requirements.”
The ribbon cutting was performed simultaneously by Mr. Jens Thing (Managing Director Haas Automation Europe), Mr. Klaus Krebs, Mr. Peter Zierhut (Haas Automation Inc. VP, European Operations), Mrs. Ulrike Zich (District Chairwoman), Bernd Katzenmeier (Director Katzenmeier Maschinen-Service GmbH) and Bert Maes (Marketing Manager Haas Automation Europe).
