As part of the Academia Collaboration Program, 3DPLM is setting up Product Innovation Labs at few colleges in India. We have already signed MoU’s for setting up these labs at BMS College of Engineering-Bengaluru, Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering-Pune, PVG College of Engineering-Pune and Army Institute of technology-Pune.
We are pleased to inform that the Product Innovation Lab at BMS College of Engineering – Bengaluru is now ready for operations. This lab was inaugurated by Xavier FOUGER – Senior Director Global Academia Programs, Dassault Systèmes on 7th September 2016. The lab is equipped with the state of art equipment (3D Printer, Auto simulator, Auto Wiper, ‘Be an Engineer’ kit, 6D Robotic Arm, Poppy Robot ) and Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
During his inaugural address, Xavier shared his views about how education plays an important role in transformation and how3DEXPERIENCE Platform is enabling innovators around the globe to visualize, collaborate and build the future products in real time. He stressed upon the use of Product Innovation Labs to get familiar with the capabilities of the 3DEXEPRIENCE Platform and its utilization for solving multi-disciplinary problems.
The key idea behind these labs is to promote “Learn by Doing” , inculcate problem solving skills specially for multi-disciplinary problems. This will also motivate students / professors to experiment, simulate – evaluate different solutions / approaches to address specific problems and bring innovative solutions, thereby learn through practical approach.
Through these labs we wish to build Product Innovation Culture amongst students and faculty community. We also hope to bring the industries to these labs there by encourage ‘R&D – Academia – Industry’ collaboration. Our colleagues from Bengaluru and Pune office are supporting this lab through technical contribution.
