WIDIA Launches New Tools and NOVO at IMTS 2014

Tooling giant WIDIA to set the stage on fire with their innovations at IMTS 2014. The company will introduce new metal cutting tools and NOVO, a powerful digital assistant for process planning. WIDIA will be displaying its innovative products from Booth W-1546.

These inserts and grades can help user get up to 30% longer tool life, and higher productivity from a boost in speed capability. The company has covered in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron turning, for every application from roughing to fine finishing.

This new shoulder mill features double-sided inserts with four cutting edges for plenty of productivity with lower cost per edge. Enjoy higher feed rates, more production, and fewer clean up passes.

Widia_3Top Cut 4 Drill
This new indexable drill platform has unique centering ability and is highly versatile, easy to apply, and covers a wide diameter range. It features three grades and two geometries for steel, cast iron, and stainless steel materials. These drills cover diameters of .473″-2.5″ (12-68mm) and L/D ratios of 2-5. They’re perfect for job shops that see a wide variety of drilling jobs.

The company will also display Rock Racer where driver David Buchberger will be talking about how WIDIA tools were used to make most of the components on this ultimate desert racing machine. Witness the tools that machined the fuel cell protective cover, rock boards, gussets and tabs, winch plate and winch mount plate, trailing arm shock mounts, upper rear shock mounts, “wobble stopper” (the first of its kind), custom T-case adapter, custom sway bar, front and rear axels, and rotors.
