Companies gearing up for the 31st Edition of BI-MU, International Trade Show in Italy

Over 450 enterprises have already registered to exhibit at 31.BI-MU, the major international trade show in Italy for the machine tool sector. On stage at fieramilano Rho from Tuesday 9 to Saturday 13 October 2018, it will highlight  the influences between the industry of manufacturing systems and the ICT world.

The total exhibition area booked to date is three times as large as that reserved in December 2015 for the last edition of the biennial trade show (2016). Moreover, the average exhibition area of stands is more than 10% larger than the one reserved by the companies on the occasion of the previous edition of this trade show.

On the total number of exhibitors, 175 companies are from abroad, representing 16 countries, as a testimony to the international propensity, which has always characterised this event. BI-MU will be able to attract the attention of Italian and foreign operators, also thanks to an updated technological range of products and to numerous novelties.

Not only machine tools, metal forming and cutting machines, automation, robotics, auxiliary technologies, but also digital manufacturing and enabling technologies: this is the core of the new BI-MU that will thus present “The Digital Era of Machine Tools”.

“The new interpretation of this trade show, which however remains loyal to its nature of major exhibition for the whole manufacturing industry, has enjoyed the full appreciation of the enterprises” – stated Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE.

“To date – continued Mariotti – 10% of the collected applications were sent by new companies, belonging both to the sectors traditionally exhibiting at the show and to new sectors, such as that of IOT (FabbricaFutura) and of consulting (Box Consulting). In this case, a very significant participation, among others, is that of PWC PricewaterhouseCoopers, which will be among the key players of this new exhibition area”.

As a mirror of the changes and transformations characterising the manufacturing industry, 31.BI-MU will show the best solutions related to the “factory of the future”. It will be an unmissable event for the users in Italy that,  for the whole year 2018, will be able to take advantage of the Super-Depreciation and Hyper-Depreciation incentives concerning investments in manufacturing technologies.

“Actually, also thanks to the substantial package of incentives implemented by the Government – added Mariotti according to the forecasts processed by the Studies Dept. of UCIMU, in 2018, the Italian machine tool consumption should grow again, reaching a new record value of 4.7 billion euro, all to the benefit of those who will exhibit at BI-MU”.

Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and organised by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, in the 6 halls optioned for the event, 31.BI-MU will propose the best international products with regard to metal cutting and forming machine tools, robots, automation, digital manufacturing, auxiliary technologies, enabling technologies, additive manufacturing, fluid-power systems, mechatronics, surface finish treatments, tooling, components, equipment and accessories, metrology and welding, IoT, big data, analytics, cyber security, cloud computing, augmented reality, system integrators, vision systems, software.

There will be numerous new innovation areas that will enrich the traditional exhibition.

FABBRICAFUTURA will be dedicated to host software and technologies developers for connectivity and data safety and management, to enable each production stage to acquire a digital identity.

ROBOT PLANET, supported by SIRI (Italian Robotics and Automation Association), will be an innovation area focused on industrial and collaborative robots, integrators and automation systems.

BOX CONSULTING will be an area entirely dedicated to the services connected with know-how, competence and certification. Beside the management consulting, BOX CONSULTING is conceived to encourage the creation of a common language shared by manufacturers of industrial machinery and developers of technologies for connectivity, facilitating the matching between demand and supply of Industry 4.0.

BI-MU STARTUPPER will be an area reserved for young innovators and for new enterprises, involved in the development of products and projects linked to the world of manufacturing systems and metal machining. BI-MU STARTUPPER will allow to transform BI-MU into a meeting place to discuss well-established industrial models and new business visions.

Moreover, there will be other interesting areas: CLUB TECNOLOGIE ADDITIVE/ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES CLUB organised by AITA-ASSOCIAZIONE ITALIANA TECNOLOGIE ADDITIVE (Italian Association of Additives Technologies); POTENZA FLUIDA/FLUID POWER will show the best products with regard to systems and components for the transmission of mechanical and fluid-dynamic power; FOCUS MECCATRONICA/FOCUS “MECHATRONICS”, organised in cooperation with AIdAM (Italian Association of Automation and Mechatronics) and IMVG (Italian Machine Vision Group); IL MONDO DELLA FINITURA DELLE SUPERFICI/THE WORLD OF SURFACE’S FINISHING, dedicated to the most qualified supply of machines and systems for surface finish and treatments: washing, industrial painting and coating, galvanisation, chemical and electrochemical processes, metallization, nanotechnological treatments.

For the first time in its long history as a B2B exhibition, BI-MU will combine the trade show with an in-depth cultural analysis of specific issues, developed not only through a “classical” conference programme, but also thanks to a well-structured schedule of side events that will enliven BI-MUpiù.

As a real arena set up in one of the exhibition halls, BI-MUpiù will be able to attract the interest of the  operators visiting the exhibition, who will be offered: special initiatives, opportunities for in-depth discussions  focused on specific topics linked to the manufacturing world, special meetings organised to encourage information sharing, as well as the presence of authoritative experts from the industry. In addition, exhibitors will be given the chance to be the protagonists of this area which will become a special stage at their disposal to present their novelties.
