Brain child of Three leading associations, Surat Engineering Vikas Association (SEVA) and Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association, India (TMMA) & Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Education Society(SVPES), Science Engineering and Technological Upliftment (SETU) foundation which is working on addressing the technology gaps in the industry, skill development and provide technical assistance to the existing Textile Machinery and Component manufacturing Industry has recently procured its first VMC machine from leading CNC manufacturers Hurco.
“The main agenda of SETU is to bridge the gap between technical education in India, up grade the technology level and help MSMEs attain higher productivity. To provide right platform and reach out to maximum companies we have partnered with Department of Heavy Industry, National Institute of Design, Quality Council of India, and many universities & technical institutes. We work closely with all our associations to provide technical and practical education,” said Hetal Mehta, Chairman, SETU Foundation.
The main agenda of SETU is to provide technology in different sub sectors like textile machinery, foundry metal casting, plastic machinery, metal cutting machine tool technology, machine tools and manufacturing, critical component technologies for CNC machines, metal forming machine tool technologies, electrical equipment, earth moving and construction equipment and automation encompassing technologies from pneumatic, hydraulic and electro based system.
“We are thankful and delighted to have technology leader like Hurco with us in our mission to provide right platform for MSMEs. Hurco machines are known for its reliability and efficiency and we are hopeful it will add value to our training centre,” added Mehta.
SETU Foundation aims to build world class R&D and technology centre which can be used by companies for their design and development purposes. SETU is looking for many technologies in machine tools and textile industry and has developed prototype development centre, heat treatment unit laboratory, training centre, design centre and testing & calibration laboratory.
